PROJECTS  /  MECHANICAL ROOM

Mechanical rooms built clean, safe, and serviceable

We design and build mechanical room upgrades and new installations – boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, and controls – laid out for safe access and easy service. Tidy labeled. code-compliant rooms that operations actually want to work in.

Downtown Vancouver - Heating System Upgrade

Completed

AFTER
Scope

The heating system was overdue for a change. We came in, stripped out the aging equipment, and replaced it with something built to last — a Rinnai RCB750 Boiler and two Rinnai Demand Duo tankless water heaters. From fresh piping and electrical wiring to new insulation and a 4″ CPVC exhaust system, every element was upgraded to meet modern standards and keep the building running with confidence.

Challenge

Commissioning and testing a boiler of this caliber demanded a level of technical precision that left no room for guesswork — and with Vancouver City codes setting a firm line in the sand, getting it wrong simply wasn’t an option.

Solution

Rather than go it alone, we went straight to the source. We partnered directly with Rinnai, building a tight working relationship that gave us the inside knowledge to commission the system properly and meet every code requirement with confidence.

✓  Outcome. What was planned as a four-week job wrapped up in just two — a testament to tight coordination and a team that knew exactly what they were doing. Technical Safety BC (TSBC) also passed the project on the first attempt, confirming full compliance across every system installed. And for the residents of Lookout AL Mitchell Place, the difference was immediate — reliable heat and hot water, exactly when they needed it most.

North Burnaby - Full Mechanical Room Upgrade

Ongoing
Scope

The mechanical room underwent a complete overhaul. We removed the outdated components, including the hot water storage tank, DHW heat exchanger, boiler components, and recirculation piping. These were replaced with a state-of-the-art DHW Air Source Heat Pump, new recirculation piping, storage tanks, and insulation, ensuring the building’s hot water system met modern efficiency and safety standards.

Challenge

Rebuilding the heart of the building’s water system while maintaining consistent service was a significant challenge. The mechanical room work needed to be carefully staged to minimize disruptions to residents.

Solution

Our team planned the replacements in stages to maintain functionality wherever possible. A bypass system was installed to ensure temporary service during critical system transitions. By sticking to a strict schedule and coordinating with residents, we minimized downtime and avoided extended service interruptions.

✓  Outcome. The mechanical room now houses a fully modernized system, delivering efficient and reliable hot water. The upgraded components are designed for durability, and residents benefit from the peace of mind
