Water entry room and main upgrades
The water entry room is the building’s single point of failure for domestic water — and often the most overlooked. We rebuild water entry stations, risers and backflow protection to current code, coordinated with the municipality so the work passes inspection the first time.
What we handle
We handle the point where the building’s water supply begins — backflow protection, risers and coordination with the city.
Backflow Prevention & Metering
Backflow preventers, flow metering and isolation valves built to current plumbing code.
Risers & Distribution
Water entry stations, risers and distribution headers replaced or upgraded without disturbing service longer than necessary.
Municipal Coordination
We manage permitting and inspection with the municipality, since work at the water entry point usually means coordinating a main shutdown with the city.
How we plan the shutdown
Assess & Coordinate
Review the existing entry room and coordinate timing with the municipality and building management, since this work usually touches the city main.
Bypass & Stage
Wherever possible, a temporary bypass keeps the building supplied during the changeover.
Test & Restore
New piping and stations pressure-tested, inspected, and service restored — work scheduled within agreed hours to keep disruption predictable.

Worked example
North Burnaby — Water Entry Room Upgrade. We rebuilt the water entry room from the ground up — new domestic water piping, risers and water entry stations, plus upgraded piping through the parkade and mechanical room. A temporary bypass kept water flowing during the changeover, and work was held to strict 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday hours so residents knew exactly what to expect.
