Repiping

SERVICES / REPIPING

Building repiping for occupied strata & apartment buildings

Failing domestic water systems don’t wait for a good time. We repipe occupied residential and commercial buildings using a staged, suite-by-suite approach — residents stay in their homes, water stays on, and every line is pressure-tested and documented before handover.

Materials

We’ll recommend the material that fits your building’s water chemistry, budget and timeline — not a one-size-fits-all answer.

Copper

The traditional standard for domestic water piping. Long service life and well understood by inspectors, at a higher material and labour cost.

PEX

Flexible cross-linked polyethylene. Resists scale and pinhole corrosion, needs fewer joints, and is typically faster to install in occupied suites, often the most cost-effective choice for branch piping.

Stainless Steel (press-fit)

Highly corrosion-resistant and well suited to risers and mains in taller buildings, at a premium over PEX.

How we stage the work

01

Assess

Site walk, water chemistry review, drawings, and a written scope with engineering where required.

02

Permit & Plan

We handle permitting and coordinate the shutdown schedule zone by zone so only a limited area is affected at a time.

03

Repipe, Restore & Document

Old piping removed, new lines run, drywall and paint made good, every line pressure-tested, and photos and test records handed over at completion.

What’s included

Engineering where required, permits and inspections, staged shutdowns communicated in advance, drywall patching and paint match, pressure testing and documentation, daily cleanup.

Typical timeline

Depends on building size and phasing — a single riser/suite grouping is typically completed within days, with the whole building phased over weeks so residents are never without water for long. We provide a realistic phase-by-phase schedule before work starts.

FAQ

Do residents need to move out during repiping?
No. We work zone by zone with a bypass system so only the active zone loses water, for hours agreed on in advance.

What materials do you use?
Copper, PEX, or press-fit stainless steel, depending on your building’s water chemistry, riser configuration and budget.

Is the work permitted and inspected?
Yes — permitting and inspections are part of the scope.

How long does a full building take?
It depends on the number of suites and risers; we provide a phase-by-phase schedule before work starts.
